Record Ling off Shetland

An island quite literally at the other end of the country has produced a whopping 67lb Ling for fisherman James Isbister. The 6ft fish was caught off Muckle Flugga last Saturday and took about half an hour to bring in. The old record, according to the Angling Trust, was 59lb 8oz caught by J Webster off Bridlington, Yorks in 1989. For info: the current Isle of Wight boat record is 27lb 9oz

James says the fish is now stuffed in his mum's freezer whilst he awaits confirmation of its record status.
