The 2011 Trophies and awards have been given out at an informal get together of Wightfishing anglers at The Fighting Cocks Public House in Hale Common. The top award "Fish of the Year" was handed to Steve Haggerty who caught a 19lb Cod from Yarmouth Pier. He won the trophy despite tough opposition from a year of great fish caught by wightfishing forum members. The ever-keen Davey scooped a number of awards including 3rd place for fish of the Year, Shore League Champion plus Fish of the Month for February and May. Top Species Hunter trophy went to "dlm09" Dan who managed to win by a good margin. Mike Hopwood (Wizbit) won silver medals in both the Shore League and Species hunt. "Admin" Dan Ross snaffled Fish of the Month for July and September with his monster coarse specimens. Rich "rmonkey1" efforts on the beach earnt him the Shore League bronze medal.
